EVHS is a registered charity in Canada, which carries out charitable activities in China and is authorized to provide you with a Charitable Receipt for Income Tax purposes for donations greater than $15.
Our fiscal management is sound; our volunteer bookkeepers and accountants assist the organization with the careful spending of donors’ funds. All board and committee members are volunteers and receive no remuneration for their work, allowing us to spend dollars directly on our projects.
Your Donations:
Giving a general donation to Eco Village of Hope enables us to respond quickly to provide essential help to the children of China. While we welcome dialogue regarding specific projects should you wish to fund them, general donations enable us to make the best decision for the programs we are running at any given time. Examples of how our donors’ funds have been used in the past and how your funds may make a difference in the lives of the children are below:After School Program Supplies: arts and crafts supplies, books, DVD’s, English as a Second Language Teaching Materials, music, recreation items, medical supplies. Future funds will be used to continue the program and enhance the facilities in which the program takes place.
Orphanage: food, clothing, toys, games, comfort items (blankets, cushions), medical supplies.
Support Staff: stipend for General Manager in China, stipend for two onsite After School Program Leaders (educated and experienced community workers in China)
Volunteer Support: transportation, accommodation and food costs to supplement the volunteers financial contribution they make to spend time in the village (volunteers contribute $300/per month in residence), basic Chinese language books.
