Volunteer opportunities are what we’re all about! Consider giving your time and talents to help children in need – the benefits to the children are boundless; the “feel good” result is priceless. Opportunities to volunteer exist in the following areas:

China
Committees
Child Care Trainers

China

Consider volunteering to work in the Taishan orphanage as a care giver. A Site Coordinator will assist you in learning to care for the children and provide direction for you during your experience. You will work as a team with local care givers to provide much needed care for young orphaned children. Bilingualism (Contonese/English) an asset but not required; skills in health care or education are also an asset, but more importantly, a desire to make a difference in the lives of these children is a must.

We also have opportunities for volunteer visitors to the Village of Nam On. During your stay in the village you will interact with local villagers and assist in any or all projects underway in the village, for example, the revitalization of the Seniors’ Centre and Fish Pond.

Committees

Board membership and committee work is the back bone of the society. While our board is currently fully staffed, we are in search of committee members to assist in the following:

Fund Raising

Tthe fund raising committee will focus on raising funds for particular projects while keeping administration and overhead at a minimum. The Fundraising Committee is responsible for:

1. the establishment of short and long term fundraising strategies to attain Board formulated goals
2. identifying and soliciting external sources for funding support
3. continually exploring new funding sources
4. designing and executing all fundraising events

Specifically, the committee’s first task will be to raise funds for the Taishan and Nam On projects.

We welcome all volunteers who wish to be involved and feel a passion for our cause. Volunteers who will perform particularly well will be those who are organized, energetic, creative, articulate, think fast on their feet, comfortable with "warm" and "cold calling", professional, great communicators and enjoy being part of a team.

Communications: the society is committed to providing both internal and external communications that convey our message with passion, conviction and purpose. Our initial communications plan calls for documents and resources that share the overarching mission and vision of the society. The Communications Committee will seek and respond to opportunities to share that message and will create messaging for specific projects as they arise. The logo, brochure, media briefing kit, presentations and web site are examples of communications pieces that are the domain of the committee.

Do you have a passion for creating messages that convey meaning? Do you enjoy using your creativity to bring marketing ideas to life online, in print and in film? If so, we’d love to speak with you about being a part of our Communications Tem. Please contact michele@ecovillageofhope.org.

Our supporters are our heroes, without them we cannot provide the care these babies so desperately need. The choice to provide the Eco Village of hope with funds to support abandoned babies is a heart felt one. Once you make your decision to give, you can do so with the full knowledge that your gift will be used to make the lives of children living without parents more joyful, more comfortable and more loving. There are many options for providing assistance ~ choose the one that best suits your circumstances. We would be pleased to speak with you directly to discuss how you may target your giving in a direct and meaningful way. Please note that the Eco Village of Hope charitable status is still pending. If you wish to donate to one of the programs we will treat your donation as an interest free loan, which will hold your tax status in abeyance until such time as the society obtains a charitable status.
